Hi, it seems when the HID mode is set to DualSense, it shows up correctly everywhere it is viewed: in gamepad tester, Game Controller panel in Windows, emulators, I can even test the inputs and gyro and see that they're working correctly.
However, for some reason, it seems in actual native Windows games (tested in Mortal Kombat X, Screamer, and Battlefield 6), they don't even detect the controller at all unless I use Steam Input. It's like they don't actually believe that it's a legitimate DualSense controller. Steam controller mode, Xbox mode, and Switch mode all work natively in actual games. You can see in the screenshot below, the controller is definitely detected in Steam as a Dualsense controller, but games don't even detect the controller at all. It sees the last connected controller (which would be an Xbox controller in this case.)

Oh hmm. I tested on SteamOS with Eden and that would see the controller correctly but I never tested on windows. Will look into it.

That's the funny part. Programs, i.e. emulators, can detect it just fine in DualSense mode. I'm currently using it in Eden now on Windows. I'll give it a quick try to see what happens in a non-steam native Windows game.
EDIT: Funi Raccoon Game non-steam demo not only detected DualSense mode, it actually showed correct DualSense button prompts as well. Expedition 33 non-steam version detects Xbox mode fine, no input / detection from DualSense mode. Sanity checked by plugging in an actual DualSense controller and that was fine.

Can you test this build?
@MaximusVX commented on GitHub (Jul 3, 2026):
Tried, still the same issue. I'm noticing now that Xbox mode isn't working either, but this could be entirely user error. Xbox controller shows up in Windows as Controller (VIIPER Controller), but I don't have VIIPER nor SISR installed on my device anymore.
@safijari commented on GitHub (Jul 4, 2026):
Ok hmm. Closing that PR for now. Will try again later.

How did you test this? I’m on Linux, and what I’m seeing is:
jstest; input testing works as expectedThe non-Steam game I tested with was Death Stranding DC via Heroic; my actual DualSense works with the game, both wired and wireless. It does not recognise any inputs from Openpuck as a Dualsense.
I don’t think I have any native games to test with, would be an interesting data point.
(XBox mode works as expected afai can see.)
@safijari commented on GitHub (Oct 14, 2026):
Can you see if this is still an issue?
@MansoorTB commented on GitHub (Nov 2, 2026):
Still an issue. Not detected on non-steam games eg: pc gamepass
