Only works using regular steam controller mode.
@4itor commented on GitHub (Jun 17, 2026):
Probable the OS (or some other software) is talking to the controller already.
At least that's what happens in MacOS.
@Dead-0-Zone commented on GitHub (Jun 17, 2026):
I don't have this issue. All modes except Xbox360 work for me.
@safijari commented on GitHub (Jun 17, 2026):
This is a mixed bag and I'm trying to look into it more. On some systems some controllers (e.g. Xbox) don't enumerate if I add the descriptor necessary for the WebUSB connection.
@frank-giugliano commented on GitHub (Jun 17, 2026):
Well maybe it's a non issue, unless there's xbox mode only setting that we need to get to.
@safijari commented on GitHub (Jun 17, 2026):
It's annoying and it's a surprise to the user. I'm going to continue to see if there's some way to ensure access from all modes and if there isn't then will leave some warnings.
I'm also going to explore if we can manage the device over BLE as that might be the superior method anyway (e.g. would allow management while connected to the switch)
@safijari commented on GitHub (Jun 18, 2026):
Adding warning to readme.
