As you can see below, I tried using Factory Erase, and it immediately reconnects -- it was not actually erased!

Tested with this board

Here are the logs:

8:40:54 PM ⚠ LOOP STALL @ serial (9280ms) — watchdog reset imminent
8:40:54 PM ⚠ RING FAULT #65283 recovered — caught a relay-ring desync/corruption (would have hung loop with IRQs off)
8:40:54 PM lizard map loaded — 26 bindings
8:40:54 PM connected — puck FXB9960222760 (VID 28de iface 0)
8:40:53 PM connect failed: Failed to execute 'claimInterface' on 'USBDevice': Unable to claim interface.
8:40:52 PM device disconnected (mode-switch / watchdog reboot) — auto-reconnecting when it returns
8:40:52 PM read err: Failed to execute 'transferIn' on 'USBDevice': A transfer error has occurred.
8:40:51 PM FACTORY ERASE sent — copycat is reformatting and rebooting to defaults. Re-pair the controller, then reconnect.
8:40:51 PM 🛑 heartbeat lost — no status blob for 7s: hard wedge (USB stack dead too, so the live wedge reporter can't run) — check the flight trail after the reset
8:39:09 PM ⚠ LOOP STALL @ serial (9280ms) — watchdog reset imminent

Can you try a full board wipe with a newer version and try flashing again fresh? You'll need to add ?debug=True to the url

I'm going to close this as it's likely to be board specific. If you're still having this issue and can supply additional info please let me know.

Ah sorry I forgot to come back to this. But on newer versions I have been able to update the firmware via the webconfig on my boards.
