Hi,

First of all: great project, it's great to be able to use the same controller in a "dumb" controller mode without Steam Input in the mix.

I was playing around a bit with enabling all possible inputs using the DirectInput option. Pretty cool to have everything exposed directly that way. I also had to use #308 gyrofix to enable gyro for this mode, but after that I found this intended behaviour rather odd:

Trackpad axes latch: they hold the last touched position (so a pad works as a throttle/trim slider) and re-centre when you click that pad.

I'm sure there's something to say for keeping the last touched position, but the re-centre part seems to:

  1. have no purpose as I cannot release the pad without touching it during release to keep it centered and hence it will immediately return to where my thumb was on the pad upon release. This makes it impossible to leave it centered after touching.
  2. make it pretty much impossible to use the touchpad click in combination with the touchpad tracking, as it will also cause the touch position to centre upon activation, which is not always wanted behaviour: I may want to bind the touchpad click to something else as well.

Perhaps you could add options to the web interface to:

  1. disable return to centre upon trackpad release (perhaps per trackpad?)
  2. disable re-centre on trackpad press

Holy shit someone's using dinput finally 😁

The defaults here are honestly all slop. Not recentering makes more sense. I'll implement.
