I have two pucks using the recommended hardware that I updated to 0.9.49. After a power cycle or two, neither one of them is responsive anymore. They are not detected by the web configurator nor by Steam (on a PC or a Steam Machine). Trying to put them in DFU mode makes the red light flash as normal, but they do not actually go into DFU mode (no file system mounted).
I'm not sure how to debug this further...I don't have much experience with hardware, so I have no idea how to rescue these. Happy to help how I can.

Can you please share links to the boards?
And also try using a different cable and try a different device (e.g. your phone)
To understand: it worked initially but after disconnecting and connecting a few times it stopped?

Boards I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GSZ7FD6T (same link in your readme)
I've used two different cables with different ports for both the Steam Machine and the PC. (These were working cables and ports prior to now.)
I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working. One of them I flashed, and it was detected in the web configurator after, then took to the Steam Machine and I think the first time I plugged it in it detected it. Then I was swapping the cable with the controller, then plugged the puck back in and it was not detected. I moved it up to the PC I had used to flash it, also not detected for either DFU or the web configurator.
I then took the other puck which I'd flashed and I don't think I'd reconnected since the flash, plugged it in to the PC, and it was also not being detected.
Prior to this firmware the pucks had been working without issue across machines (and cables and ports).

Huh, update:
I had them unplugged...went back and plugged them in an hour or so later now and...both are working.
My only theory is that there was some transient state from the upgrade (I didn't select to factory reset during the upgrade) and I was unplugging it too quickly for some capacitance to disperse? I have no idea. But they're both responding now. I'll close this but re-open if you want to get more info.

The machine god works in mysterious ways 🤣
Glad they're working. Lemme know if you run into another issue
@jefferai commented on GitHub (Aug 22, 2026):
Yeah. The best computer trick I ever learned, long ago -- before everything had a battery -- was to unplug the power supply and hold a screwdriver between the ground pin and other pins (one at a time) on the power supply. It fixed all sorts of truly weird issues. Best one being when Final Fantasy VII for the PC (yes, I'm old) installed a software audio driver from Yamaha that caused my machine to completely fail to boot until I drained the capacitance that way to 100% fully remove all charge holding state.
