GAME : 007 First Light—v1.3 (latest update)

OptiScaler: Latest nightly build (20261007)

The same behavior also occurs with other OptiScaler versions, including stable releases.

Problem:

I'm experiencing a significant FPS drop when rotating the camera, particularly when the camera moves toward James' face / third-person camera view.

The issue becomes much worse when XeFG/MFG is enabled.

I also noticed that simply installing OptiScaler into the game folder causes a noticeable performance reduction even when XeFG/MFG is disabled.

FPS comparison:

Before installing OptiScaler
With the game running normally and DLSS 4 enabled:

Base FPS: approximately 49–70 FPS
Main menu: approximately 70+ FPS
No major FPS loss occurs simply from rotating the camera.
After installing OptiScaler, with XeFG/MFG disabled
After placing the OptiScaler nightly files into the game folder:

Main menu: approximately 70+ FPS
In-game base FPS: approximately 55 FPS
When rotating the camera, FPS can suddenly drop by approximately 12 FPS.
This happens even though XeFG/MFG is disabled.

With XeFG/MFG enabled
When XeFG/MFG is enabled, the problem becomes significantly worse.

While rotating the camera, especially when the camera moves toward James' face, the generated FPS drops heavily, and noticeable visual artifacts appear.

The generated FPS does not remain stable during camera movement.

Expected behavior:

I would expect OptiScaler/XeFG/MFG to maintain stable performance during normal camera rotation without causing a large additional FPS drop or introducing visual artifacts.

Actual behavior:

There appear to be two related performance issues:

OptiScaler causes a noticeable reduction in base performance even with XeFG/MFG disabled.
Enabling XeFG/MFG makes the camera-rotation FPS drop significantly worse and introduces visual artifacts.
Reproduction steps:

Install 007 First Light v1.3.
Run the game normally with DLSS 4 enabled and note the FPS.
Install the latest OptiScaler nightly build.
Run the game with XeFG/MFG disabled and compare the base FPS.
Rotate the camera, particularly toward James' face, and observe the FPS drop.
Enable XeFG/MFG.
Repeat the same camera movement.
Observe the significantly larger FPS drop and visual artifacts.
Could you please investigate whether OptiScaler/XeFG/MFG is causing additional GPU/CPU workload, frame-pacing, or synchronization issues specifically during camera movement?

If logs, configuration files, or other information are required, I can provide them.

These are needed but before that if your are not on Intel and using XeMFG unlock mod, we are not providing support for it.

Also experiencing similar problem on Steam Deck with 0.9.4. Patch the game alone already causing performance drop, previous 30+ fps scenes drop to ~22fps, no FG, switching upscaler between FSR 2/3/4 makes little difference performance-wise.
