I tried running the script and it says that only the native version of sunshine is supported. This wouldn't be an issue except I can't get the native version to install on popos.
@Arbitrate3280 commented on GitHub (Sep 5, 2025):
I'll be busy this next week, but after that I'll add flatpak support.
@Arbitrate3280 commented on GitHub (Sep 25, 2025):
Can you test the latest release and let me know if it works?
@navriin commented on GitHub (Sep 26, 2025):
Absolutely. I had a lot going today, but I'll test it out tomorrow and get back to you.
Regardless of if it works, thank you so much for trying
@parigi-n commented on GitHub (Sep 26, 2025):
it doesn't work for my Sunshine AppImage installation
"Error: No Sunshine installation detected."
@Arbitrate3280 commented on GitHub (Sep 27, 2025):
Can you try this and let me know if it works?
If it doesn't, can you tell me where the app image is located in your system? I am checking what i think are some common locations, but idk if I'm covering everything.

I was able to run the script (popos doesn't have the glibc version necessary to run the app), but the games don't actually launch. it kicks me to the menu again with a host error, and the host pc says "successfully stopped game name"
ETA: the game name doesn't change between games either. If I launch game1 then game2, it will display "successfully stopped game1" both times. Restarting sunshine resets this, so if I launch game2 1st then it will say it stopped game2 both times (or however many times I try)
@Arbitrate3280 commented on GitHub (Sep 28, 2025):
what source are you using for the games? lutris? steam? and those sources are installed as .deb or flatpak?
I'll install sunshine flatpak myself and see what's up, I'm thinking that maybe there's some sandboxing shenanigans I'll need to figure out
@navriin commented on GitHub (Sep 28, 2025):
It's lutris(deb), and it may well be sandboxing. I found a command that may need to be added to flatpak sunshine. I'll test it and get back to you
Edit: it's mostly gog games launched with lutris if that's more what you mean
@navriin commented on GitHub (Sep 28, 2025):
Sandboxing indeed. I added "flatpak-spawn --host" to the command, and it worked. Not sure if that's a good idea to use for this or not (or if it matters at all), but it works
@Arbitrate3280 commented on GitHub (Sep 28, 2025):
Took a look at sunshine docs and it does warns about the need of using flatpak-spawn --host for the flatpak version, so it seems this is the suggested "solution".
Updated the code to add this by default now, so you won't need to do it manually.
Also changed the build workflow of the binary to run on Ubuntu 22.04 in the hope of magically fixing the glibc issue you experienced.
@navriin commented on GitHub (Sep 28, 2025):
Took me a while to get this working (had to manually delete all the applications, because I don't know a faster way), but I messed up and deleted steam big picture and now it doesn't work. That's obviously my fault tho. It works great now thank you so much!!
